25 Mar Spring 2014: Refresh, Restart, Renew
Spring is here and I love it! The days are longer, the sky is blue. There is a freshness in the air. The birds are singing and flowers are starting to bloom. Most of all it’s WARM and SUNNY. Which makes the perfect time to refresh, restart and renew.
In regards to BEAUTY, BODY AND MIND… There is no time like the present for a bit of spring-cleaning. Let’s start with:
Your BEAUTY GAME
The Makeup – Less is definitely more! :: As we start to shed layers of clothes in the warmer months, we should also apply this same concept to our routine for skin coverage.
Wear the minimal in regards to foundation. No need to pile it on. Use it sparingly. Or better yet switch to a tinted moisturizer by Laura Mercier. It offers a youthful, radiant finish and comes in an oil-free formula to control shine.
Other Makeup Tips
Try less powder. Skip the sponge application and reach for a brush for a light dusting. This will give you a sheer natural finish instead of a heavy handed powdery look.
Concealer should be used on blemishes and discoloration with a light hand. Not entire full length under eyes. Try to gently tap a very small amount into the inner corners of the eyes, around the nose and any other blemishes on the face.
Brighten Up Babes!
After your foundation, Try a few colorful makeup products to brighten up your Spring season…
Pick a lipstick in a orange hue. Don’t be afraid girls! There is a shade that works for every skin tone. Still reluctant? Try it in a sheer tint or gloss.
Polish your nails in a gorgeous sunny yellow by Deborah Lippman. The brighter the better. Have a conservative dress code at work? Use it after your pedicure instead of a mani.
Sweep a bright hot pink blush by Tarte on your cheek. Don’t worry…it will be brighter in the package. On the skin it will make you look like you have a healthy, glowing flush of color.
