The softly defined eye is great to incorporate into almost any beauty look. From bridal beauty… to a night on the town, wearing eye makeup this way is definitely one of the most versatile. Here’s is my softly defined eye makeup tutorial:
Achieving The Softly Defined Eye
Here are a few of the beauty products you will need to achieve the softly defined eye makeup look:
- Eye Primer
- Neutral eye shadows
- Dark Black or Brown Gel Eyeliner
- Lash Curler/Black Mascara
- Makeup Brushes
Start with Too Faced Shadow Insurance Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer…. press onto eyelid from lash line to brow bone. Use sparingly, a little goes a long way.
Next up are the neutral eye shadows, utilizing your fluff brush, you want to pack on the lightest color all over the lid, again from lash line to brow bone.
Take your tapered crease brush and sweep the medium brown eye shadow into and slightly above the crease. It’s going to give the eye some depth.
Moving on to the lash line…
Our next step is to apply black gel eyeliner using the Tight Line Method. For this step, you will be using your flat definer brush. Dip it into your gel eyeliner and remove the excess by tapping it onto the back of your hand. Gently lift eye lid and from underneath, press the brush onto the base of the lash. Distributing color at the lash line. Start in the center and work your way into the outer corner of the eye. Repeat the same step continuing to fill in the inner section of the lash line.
The idea is to create volume. We do this by connecting the dots between lashes with eyeliner. You then want to take your smudge brush, using the darkest eye shadow, brush it along the lash line blending well, creating a smokey effect. Last but not least, using the Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler, curl lashes and add two coats of mascara. For added volume apply a few individual lashes to the outer corners.
The Outcome
